PapersOwl Review: Full Guide on This Service
My Rating: 4/10
- free tools
- attractive interface
- detailed information about the writers
- high prices
- low-quality blog
- bad customer support service
PapersOwl is one of the numerous writing services to offer academic assistance to students who don’t want to deal with their homework by themselves. Although these services can be considered as a way to cheat, the demand doesn’t weaken.
In my PapersOwl review, I provide all the details that you need to know before ordering from this company. I’ve tried to make this review as unbiased as possible, but I’m only human, after all. Sometimes, my emotions overcome my rational mind, and I can’t stop my fingers from printing exclamation marks.
Anyway, my knowledge about the service isn’t full, as I haven’t made it to the final step. Some crucial factors appeared to be red flags for me :(. Read my review and leave your comments if I’ve missed some details.
First Impression: 5/10
When you visit the PapersOwl site for the first time, you will get quite a good impression of it. First of all, the blue color looks very official and calming. Secondly, they have a friendly symbol — an owl in glasses. Also, the interface is understandable, and there aren’t too many words.
On the main page, you will see the following message:
You get $35 as soon as your friend completes his or her first order.
You may also find some compelling statistics:
As for me, 11 operators for such an ambitious project isn’t enough, and I’ll tell you why in my section on customer support.
I couldn’t find any samples to evaluate the quality of the service. Therefore, I decided to check PapersOwl’s blog to learn more about the writers’ skills. And I wasn’t impressed at all.
The PapersOwl blog looks unprofessional and abandoned. I want to make a short list about my impression of it:
- There are no images or infographics, and the posts look naked.
- Administrators haven’t updated the blog since June 2019.
- Samples don’t have cited sources.
- Essay samples are poorly structured and contain grammar and punctuation mistakes.
The articles and guides on the blog look better than the samples, and I assume that they were written by professional copywriters, not by unqualified writers.
My first impression of PapersOwl is mixed, and I give it 5/10.
Customer Support: 3/10
I’ve promised to tell you about my experience with customer support. In the first place, according to statistics, there are only 11 active operators. I found out that this domain had been registered in 2016. What this means is that they have worked for a maximum of 40 months.
It’s not difficult to calculate that they process about 2,000 orders per month! How do they deal with such a huge workload with a team of 11 operators?
The answer came to me quickly. I tried to find out the minimum price per page via live chat with a customer support manager. And I got my answer after waiting for TWO HOURS!
By the way, customers may contact support only via e-mail or live chat, as there is no available phone number on the site.
I don’t think that a writing service with a high pricing policy should neglect the importance of customer support. That’s why I give it 3/10.
I want to warn you: I’m one of those people who wants to know everything before making any decisions. I like making pros and cons lists, and I need a lot of information about a service when I use it for the first time.
That’s why the absence of prices on the site makes me feel deceived. So, I had to apply to a support manager to find out.
In two (!) hours, I got the answer:
Can you imagine? A student has to pay $20 for the lowest category of writer and a two-week deadline! From my experience with writing services, I can say with 100% confidence that assigning a writer of the lowest quality isn’t the best idea. And you don’t always have time to pick the furthest deadline. Therefore, you’ll have to spend a fortune on your essay. I give 1/10 to the PapersOwl pricing policy.
When you place your order at PapersOwl, you have two options. The first one is to pick the writer by yourself. The second option is to ask for the best available candidate for $9.99.
In both cases, you have the opportunity to pick the writer’s category: All writers, Premium (+10%), and Platinum (+20%).
You can check the information about the writers in the Top Writers section. Each writer’s profile includes information about the completed orders, ratings, and comments from previous customers.
However, you can’t request a specific writer while ordering, so there is no use in this information for new customers.
Free Tools: 8/10
I want to finish my PapersOwl review on a high note. Despite all the pitfalls, this service can be of great help for students, as it gives access to a bunch of free helpful tools:
- plagiarism checker
- citation generators for different formatting styles
- thesis statement generator
- conclusion generator
- title page maker
Not all of them work perfectly, but they are certainly a great addition for PapersOwl.
PapersOwl Review: Recommendations
Despite a good-looking site and a range of free tools, I can’t give a recommendation in my PapersOwl review. In comparison to other well-known writing services, their prices are too high. Customer support service leaves much to be desired. Free tools can’t replace high-quality service or a reasonable pricing policy.
